Melt More Than Just Chocolate

These are by far one of my favorite random kitchen finds. We’ve used them exclusively for fondue, just a pat of butter, some chocolate chips, and a splash of cream once the chocolate melts. Perfect for dipping fruit and berries after dinner. One night we even made indoor s’mores by cutting marshmallows, toasting them over a tealight, and dipping them in chocolate between graham crackers. It beat the oven version by a mile—no sticky mess, and way more fun.

The cups do get hot, so you’ll want to use common sense if kids are nearby. They’re marketed toward adults, but in practice they’ve been a great family activity. I like them so much that I’m planning to buy a set for each of my older kids this Christmas.

Practical notes: cleanup is easy with hot soapy water. Even after we accidentally dripped wax inside, it wiped out without issue using hot water and a paper towel. If you only get a drop, you can just scrape it loose with a butter knife. The included tealights are surprisingly efficient—we got three substantial uses out of one. It takes about 10–15 minutes to melt a full fondue cup of chocolate chips, which was enough to feed us half a pound of strawberries and a whole banana cut into pieces.

Now for the bonus action: I’m a little obsessive about storm prep. We don’t have many long outages where I live, but I like knowing I have options. There’s a persistent myth online about “cooking on tealights” that drives me crazy with people balancing baking sheets over candles like it’s a stovetop. That doesn’t work. Candles don’t generate enough direct heat to cook anything that way. But these cups? They focus and contain the heat in a way that actually makes it practical. I’ve watched chocolate boil in these things (watch out for scorching if using chocolate chips), which convinced me they’d work well as mini hotpots and serve as handy little warming vessels in an outage.

I absolutely love this fondue cup! It’s the perfect size for melting chocolate for fruit, marshmallows, or cookies—just enough for two people to share. The design is adorable, and the black and red color combo gives it a classy, romantic feel. The included forks and candle make it easy to use right out of the box, and the cleanup is quick.

What a great idea for a date night! I am planning some special date nights with these. What a cool concept and cozy feel they have. They arrived packaged well and in good condition. One candle has a crack, but I don't think that will be a problem at all. They are adorable and look great. These will make perfect couple gifts for those you love. I may be ordering some sets to give as a gift for Christmas. It took about 15 minutes for my chocolate chips to melt. I added a little butter to the melted chocolate and it was perfect. I can see doing some caramel, chocolate and a touch of salt in these. Marshmallows and chocolate and dipping with graham crackers. Making personal sized beer cheese, so many possibilities. You do have to watch over them as if left alone for too long, the chocolate can burn a bit. I found them to clean easily with soap and water. I believe that I can use the included tea lights a few times before replacing. I would suggest adding some instructions and a few recipes to spark interest and more ideas. Love this set!!

These fondue cups are cute and easy to use. I was skeptical as to whether a mere tea candle could melt the chocolate sufficiently, but it really works—and works well. I’m so pleased.

The cavity that holds the chocolate is kind of small but just the right size for a one-person treat. I do wish the set included something to put dippers on, like an oversized saucer or something, but that’s okay. At least it comes with a little fondue dipping fork, and that works great.

Overall, this is just really cute, and though I’m keeping them for myself, they would also make a really nice gift.

These Fondue Cup/Mugs are really adorable! We love Fondue in our household. My son makes a lot of chocolate covered strawberries & other things as well, so as soon as I saw these I knew they would be perfect for movie or game night!!

One of the candles looks like it started to melt & was somewhat smashed, but other than that, this is a solid set.
Cute idea & novelty.
Cups do get hot after the candle has been warming them up, so you need to be aware of that & use common sense like you would anything else with hot liquids that are melted.

Easy to clean up. Fit & store well in kitchen cabinet, just like a regular coffee mug would.

Wouldn't recommend for children or young kids, but teenagers should be able to handle this okay if they are responsible.

Not just for couples, perfect for families as well. But I can see why it's marketed for date nights & couples.

For the price of $32.99 (at time of posting this, 09/13/25) I feel it could be a little lower. I would do some comparison shopping on Amazon as I have seen this exact same set for a lower price & the only reason for knocking one star off.

Other than that I highly recommend these to anyone especially if you are a fondue lover!
